Privacy Policy
GaragePass is built by Web Savvy Designs, a single-member LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the GaragePass iOS app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
- Vehicle data you enter: Year, make, model, nickname, color, trim, VIN, mileage, purchase date, and any other details you add to your vehicles.
- Service records: Service logs, modification records, fuel logs, reminders, and associated costs and notes that you enter.
- Photos and documents: Vehicle photos and document images (receipts, insurance cards, titles) that you upload.
- Usage data: Basic app usage information collected by Firebase (Google) to help us maintain and improve the service.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any data unrelated to your vehicle records.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, sync, and display your vehicle service records across sessions and devices
- To send local push notifications for service reminders you set
- To generate PDF buyer profile documents at your request
- To authenticate your account securely via Sign in with Apple
- To maintain and improve the GaragePass app
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 3.
3. Third-Party Services
GaragePass uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Firebase (Google): We use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Firebase Storage to securely store your account and vehicle data in the cloud. Your data is stored in Google’s servers in the United States. Firebase’s privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Apple Sign In: Authentication is handled by Apple. Apple’s privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in Firebase with authentication-enforced access rules — only you can read or write your own data. Photos and documents are stored in Firebase Storage under the same security rules. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not store your data on our own servers.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app by going to Settings → Delete Account & All Data. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data associated with your account (visible within the app)
- Delete your account and all data at any time via Settings → Delete Account & All Data
- Export your service history as a PDF at any time via the Share tab
- Contact us with any privacy concerns or requests
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA respectively. To exercise any rights, contact us at the email below.
7. Children’s Privacy
GaragePass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of GaragePass after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
